TS-300 upgraded version of Portable Explosives Narcotics Detector is a narcotics and explosives detection device independently designed and manufactured by Safeway Inspection System Limited. Based on the principle of ion mobility spectrometry, it can accurately detect particles or vapor of explosives and narcotics, and report the ingredient names. With the superior technical features of fast response, high precision, low power consumption and easy to operate and maintain, the Detector is widely used for security in airports, seaports, customs checkpoints, border crossings, metro stations, railway stations and other importation occasions.
It uses a reliable trace detection technology based on the ion mobility spectrometry. The core component of the Detector is the drift tube, which is schematically illustrated in Figure 2.1. It mainly included the ion source, the ion gate, the drift region and the detector.

The working principle of the drift tube is: at atmospheric pressure, any vapors or microscopic particles of target materials collected on the sampler trap are released into the detection system by placing the sampled trap into the inlet on the desorber. Desorbed vapors are carried into the ion source by a stream of clean, dry air. Ions of the sample formed in the ion source passed through the pulse opened ion gate and entered the drift region with an even electric field. mobility. K is constant when E is less than 1000V/cm, and decided by ion structure, mass, charger number and the type of the drift gas. The ion mobility of each target ion differs sufficiently so that each is uniquely identified. Meanwhile, the quantity can be determined by the direct proportion between the peak area and the logarithmic values of the concentration.
